Those who know me know that I have an obsession with fashion. I go nuts every time I see a really incredible design or new line someone like Oscar De La Renta comes out with. My family of boys doesn't understand at all. It is however a part of me that only seems to grow and polarise with time. Fashion has a way of transforming the way someone feels and thinks about themselves. This piece was an ode to that feeling and transformation. How one dress can be all the drama in the world and push the way you feel for a day into a new dimension. This is an illustration that I did all by hand in Adobe Illustrator. No tracing was used, the design is completely custom and original.

Park City Lodging

This is a brochure that I put together for Park City Lodging. For those who aren't familiar with Park City it is not only beautiful in the winter with the snow, but in the summer in the fresh warm mountain air. While Park City is famous for its snow, its summer months are important to the businesses in the city. So I wanted a Brochure that put across the feelings of "hiking in the wildflowers" while still keeping with the tradition of "cabin in the snow" that Park City does so well. I feel that I achieved a great blend with this design.

Christmas Card

This is a Christmas card design that I put together. I created the images in Adobe Illustrator and then moved them over to Adobe Indesign for the layout and placement of the text. The card is meant to be printed on a thick iridescent ivory paper. The color pallet and design are more modern. Christmas cards can get tacky and cliche sometimes. I wanted to step away from the traditional images and colors and create something a bit more fresh, yet that still captures the feelings of the holidays. So I created a design that would appeal to a younger more posh demographic. I found that the paper choice took this design to the next level and really completed it for me. The irridecent shimmer to the paper really enhanced the feeling I was going for. I wanted to get across the look of a fresh layer of snow in the evening. The way it shimmers in the blue light of winter. That to me gives shivers of Christmas when I see it and that is what this card was all about.

Dance the Year Away 2009

This is a calendar I created for 2009. My aim was to create more of a piece of art than a way to track the dates of the year. Something a bit more creative and fun than a regular calender. So I took the idea of a bar of music and put one note on the bar for each day of the month. I noted the first day of the week of each month and also the number of days in that month. You still with me? :) Then I made a custom illustration in Adobe Illustrator for each month and found a creative song name that said the month in it. I wanted to convey a lot of energy and movement in both my silhouettes as well as the brushes and strokes I used to create the different hair. I used lots of color to create mood and I feel like the vibe of this piece speaks for its self.

B&B Handbags

This is a high fashion handbag ad I designed. I had in my head what I wanted to do. I read a lot of fashion magazines just to study the ads inside. I love the edgy over the top style that is really big right now. As a student who doesn't have access to lighting studios and other nice professional things I have learned to make the most of what I have and just make the piece work. This however keeps things exciting.

My best friend Brooke came over and took one for the team. She let me dress her up and leave her in a bathtub full of bubbles for an hour while I played around with the shot. I did everything for this image from the make up to the photography to the styling. Because I am an amateur photographer lots of photoshop editing was needed. I also used photoshop to change the color of Brooke's shoe and remake the background and the bathtub. The city scape that you see is a photo I took of the Atlanta skyline at night. I had to climb to the top of a random apartment complex to get this shot because Atlanta is such a flat place. It was a bit of an adventure trying to find a place to shoot i a strange city, and I even got yelled at by some old woman in curlers who wanted to know what on earth I was doing in front of her place, but I made it work. I really love the way this ad turned out. My dream job would be to design ads like this for a magazine like Vogue or for a design house like Christian Dior.
